About Us
Megan Waters, OD
Dr. Waters is a Livonia native who has been in the Optical business since 1988. Interestingly, she started at this very office as a Stevenson High School student who assisted in eye exams and pretesting patients before deciding to make this her career!
She is a graduate of The Illinois College of Optometry with extensive experience in routine eye examinations as well as fitting and trouble-shooting difficult to fit contact lenses, treating eye emergencies, and ocular pathology. Before taking over Waters Family Eyecare, Dr. Waters worked with a non-profit organization offering free eye exams and contact lenses to students in low income areas of the community.
Dr. Waters and her husband, Tom, have 3 adult children who they try to spend as much time with as they can. She loves traveling, reading good books, playing games and puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends!
Our Team
Trish, Office Manager
Trish enjoys cooking, road trips, and all things outdoors. She is a very family focused person and she loves spending time with her friends and two dogs. She has spent the last 22 years here and the patients have become friends. It is one of the many reasons she has grown to love her job. Even with a busy and growing practice, we maintain a small town feel to our office, welcoming and getting to know everyone that walks through the door. Who doesn't like to make new friends!
Marie Dwenger, Optician
Marie joined the practice at the end of 2022, and has fit right into her role as an optician. She loves picking out glasses with patients and forming a bond with each and every person she meets. Marie comes from a Pharmacy background prior to taking a step into the optical world. In her spare time she enjoys camping, watercolors, and spending quality family time with her daughter and husband.
Sirena Dowden, Optician
Sirena has been in optical for over 6 years, and joined the practice at the beginning of 2022. She loves the technical aspects of optics and is passionate at explaining the workings of lenses to those who ask. Sirena is a skilled Optician with a ABO certification. In her spare time she enjoys watching a good movie, and traveling to new places.
Jennifer Shelton, Technician
Jennifer joined the office as a technician in June 2024. She came with experience from another office in Northville, where she worked as a optician for 9 years. Jen loves to read and write stories in her free time, her favorite authors including Anne Rice, John Grisham and Janet Evanovich. She is an avid music fan enjoyed many different genres and time periods. If you ever want to talk about crafts and art Jennifer is your girl! She is known around the office as being very creative with her paintings, drawings and crafting.
